Your at home newborn session isn't just about getting photos, its about having 2 hours to slow down, connect with everyone you live with and love and forget about all the sleepless nights an chaos. Of course you want all the tiny details to remember. from little hands, feet hairs on top of their little ears etc but a newborn session isn't solely about the newborn, its also about your child having photos to look back on of their own parents. How their first home they were brought home from the hospital looks like, their childhood pets & siblings when they were younger looked like, these photos will be what creates core childhood memories

Every little detail to remember.... I have people who contact me after sharing an image saying they feel emotional as their tiny baby in that photo is already 6 month, so grown up and big compared to their newborn photos. these photos bring back the emotions from that time

Siblings, parents and pets


It is important to have siblings involved in their little brother or sisters newborn session. Of course I get plenty of photos of baby on their own but parents, pets and siblings are all part of the story and highly encouraged to get in the picture.


As a mum myself I am very aware are all to often we are the ones taking the pictures and rarely in them. It is so important your children have pictures of their parents in their "younger days" to look back on.


Regardless of how tired or not yourself you think you look I promise you and your little ones in this crazy digital world will REALLY cherish having these in many years to come. Images came to life and printed in your hand not just somewhere on an old or broken computer or phone they may never see the light of day of those images

So what happens during a newborn session?


I pre arrange a date and time with you , usually around 10am. the sessions normally lasts 2 hours, this gives plenty of time to stop and change and feed. I love to get natural images during feeding if your comfortable with it.

I like to get-

baby on their own

baby details, hands, feet ears etc

Baby with parents, siblings and pets

If you would like grandparents involved, arrange to have them arrive at your house 15 minutes before session is over as to not disturb the flow during your private moments .

If your breastfeeding I love to capture the quiet moments of this if your comfortable with it

Newborn sessions with me are very relaxed and I totally go with the flow of the baby. When I first started out many years ago I used to stress about making sure baby was asleep so I could pose them in awkward positions I now very much keep it natural, if baby wants to sleep, great if they don't we will get beautiful images just the same

So what should I wear?

Most important you are comfortable and feel like yourself, However I find light colours with no or minimal patterns work the best with teeny tiny newborns up against you, for mums flowy tops or dresses look really good and flattering. For breastfeeding mums wear something you can easily feed in during your session.so many dad clothes/shirts have stripes please avoid anything with stripes no matter how small the are as these play havoc once shown on a screen. plain lighter colours and no logos please

What you really want to know


The nitty gritty and to keep it simple a newborn session is £300


To secure your date a £90 deposit is needed and this comes out of overall total price, no session is secured with just an emailing saying you want to book, only after deposit is paid


After this is received I will confirm and send a quick questionnaire for you to fill out to get to know your family a little more and important info like address session is to be carried out

-Private gallery of edited images sent 2-3 weeks after your session to view and download all your digital files


-Five fine art high quality prints of your favourite images delivered to your door

-Travel within 30 miles of BT63 6HB ( Gilford co down) I am happy to travel further for a small travel fee

When should I book, cant I wait to my baby arrives?


I highly recommend you get in touch when still expecting and any time after your 20 week scan. the newborn phase moves on very quickly , you have a 2-3 week window to capture them when they are their absolute tiniest, skin can change after this time and the tiny little features can start to fill out very quickly. I also have limited number of mornings available so to secure your babies arrival date it is best to give as much notice as possible

I love to capture this stage the excitement of what lies ahead and if its your first the last few months of just the 2 of you if its not your first then this is a great opportunity for mum to get their hair done wear a long flowy dress and feel like a goddess for 45minutes
